Description
Types of Antistatic Bags:
Type B (Antistatic but Non-Conductive):
Type B Big Bags are made from polypropylene with an antistatic coating with low breakdown voltage (<6 kV).
Prevents brush discharges but must not be used where flammable gases or vapours are present.
Type C:
Constructed using interwoven conductive threads.
Must be grounded during filling and discharging.
Safe for use with flammable vapours, gases, and combustible dusts.
Requires a strict grounding protocol for safe operation.
Type D (Static Dissipative Bags):
Type-D Antistatic Bulk Bags are made from special antistatic fabric material that is made from static dissipative threads that require no special electrical grounding system. These are made to store and transport dry flammable materials which are at risk of igniting during storage and shipping.
Does not require grounding, safely dissipates static to the atmosphere.
Provides the highest level of safety against electrostatic hazards.
Ideal for areas with limited grounding control or mobile operations.
Common Applications:
Antistatic FIBC Bags are widely used in:
- Chemical and petrochemical plants
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Food and sugar industries
- Explosives and flammable materials transport
- Powdered metals and mining industries
- Grain, flour, and agricultural storage
